One of our favorite clients in the public accounting sector in Charlotte is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join their team. This role is ideal for a tax professional with a strong background in individual, partnership, and corporate tax compliance and advisory services. You will manage complex tax engagements, provide strategic planning, and deliver high-touch service to a sophisticated client base, including high-net-worth individuals, closely held businesses, and investment entities.
This firm has professionals from all backgrounds including Big 4, Top 15 National firms, large regional CPA firms, and even people straight from college! Stable firm, room for growth, flexible in office, good w/l balance, and competitive compensation. Turnover is very low here!
***They are also open to Staff or Manager level as well, if Senior isn't quite in line for you.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review complex individual tax returns (Form 1040), Partnerships (Form 1065), S Corporations (Form 1120-S), C Corporations (Form 1120) including related schedules and forms.
Provide proactive tax planning and advisory services to high-net-worth individuals, including business owners, executives, and family offices.
Research and resolve complex tax issues, including multi-state taxation, investment income, estate and gift tax considerations, and charitable planning.
Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop customized tax strategies that align with financial goals.
Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and review of work to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations affecting high-net-worth individuals.
Assist in IRS and state tax audits and correspondence as needed.
Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and communication.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s in Taxation preferred.
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in public accounting with a focus on individual & partnership tax
CPA license is preferred or planning to obtain
Strong technical knowledge of federal and state tax laws, particularly those affecting high-net-worth
